MGT Motorcycle Ride

Postby mmcnx2 on Sun Aug 14, 2011 8:46 pm

Ok guys, MNGlocker kinda started this idea, but I'll run with it. Is there any interest in a MGT cycle ride. A Saturday or Sunday, maybe ride out for a burger and back. Heck we could even make a run to a range. Lets get some idea of who might be interested and a destination.

Ride in the boonies and avoid cities, we can OC rifles....

Or we could tag along on some other organized rides and see how it's done...? Star West Honda is hosting a HRC ride to Orock this Saturday the 20th. The cost is free and it's open to all makes/models. Meet in Delano at 9am depart at 9:30am get back around lunch time.

Or we can come up with something fun like a ride along the Minnesota River Valley, National Scenic Byway.

Or perhaps something shorter for non-iron asses.

I'm in. How about a ride to Hastings and down along the river to Redwing?

The ride to Hastings for myself or mmcnx2 is double the length of your ride. Let's make something a hair longer?

Perhaps a late season run down 29 on the 'sconny ride to celebrate the cheeseheads getting a carry law. We just need to figure out the reciprocity thing. And the run could be longer, Think Flood Run.

Are you suggesting an all nighter with that order? It's good practice for snowplow hours.

I was not suggesting we hit all three in one ride, just three different options for one ride.

However, all three would be a fun loop starting in Waverly, then Waconia, then Lions Tap, but I'd never be able to ride after eating that much.

Lets think about a location that does not require us western boys to run accross the cities, maybe 100 or less miles, stop for a meal, then swing back home. Keep the total loop about 4-5 hours. All depends on how much highway we want verse back road.

PS, what does everyone ride? I'm on a Road Glide Ultra.

I'm on a Shadow 750 Aero with bags. I'll drag along the neighbor too, same bike, just older and slower.

Can you preemtively catch deer for us? You'll also need to wear safety gear, like a helmet.
