The body bands are out of the question (Tim won't allow). I was just thinking it would be nice and versatile for pants or skirts or dresses, or pants without belt loops. It looks like it would secure the gun better than a band.

Does thunderwear just make like that pouch thing? I like the idea of these because there isn't a band that could come loose and I think the position of the holster might work well with my glock 19.

I think your right, they do look like they would work for what you are trying to do. I'd be interested in how much compression they would achieve and how comfortable they would be because of that. Depending on how much weight you would want to carry in the holster, would depend on how substantial the "girdling" would need to be. It also looks like you aren't using a holster, so the fast draw of kydex or leather would be a concern. Generally speaking the tighter the support structure the harder it will be pulling the gun into the body, so drawing may be tricky. Bottom line (no pun intended) I think you would have to get your hands on one and your fanny into a pair to see if they work. I'm skeptical that you could get the weapon support/drawability ratio in line to make them as functional as an IWB.

Maybe a site like the Cornered Cat would have some good direction and maybe some members who have tried it.

YOU have to be satisfied with the method, not Tim. I understand the reluctance for off-body carry, simply because a person is too easily disarmed by setting the purse (or whatever) down. ANY style of carry is better than NO carry, however.

"Mr. Sherri Warner" is going have to suck it up and let you decide which method works for you. And you can tell him I said so.

Based on my experience with a belly band I am almost certain it's going to have to be a lightweight polymer pistol to work in those. Otherwise the gun will get floppy. (Come on guys what else would I say?)

I put a BERSA Thunder in my belly band and cinched it up as tight as I could and it would still flop vertically because of the weight.

There are methods he may think are better or worse for you. There are reasons and tradeoffs attached to those methods. But it's your responsibility and with too many restrictions you won't carry. Would that be better than carrying in a belly band?
