Great call and the reason my son is a Kris. sprechen Sie Deutsch

i suppose. like Kris Kristofferson. my cousin Kristina spells her name the way that guy does, and that's the only K spelling of the name i have known. but do you really think a good-ol boy from the bayou is of germanic descent?

either way, the moral of the story is that these assclowns are a bunch of hacks, on par with every other shop that cable TV gives a show to!

Ok, I just watched part of an episode.
What a joke.

They're throwing parts from Brownell's together in the one about the Katana.
"custom rifles" What?
It's a flat top, standard front sight, and carbon fiber tube.
Choice of parts to save weight blows too. Ultralight combat rifle, but standard A2 charging handle latch, A2 stock(really?). At least throw a badger tac latch on it, and save weight going with an ACE stock.

Then they talk about mounting a sling to a carbon fiber tube. And how long would that last before it ripped out?
$1850 for one? no thanks. It took me about 2 hours to build my last 2, with a lot more bells and whistles for about half that.

The integrally suppressed AK-47... is just a suppressor with a fake alum. sleeve over the barrel to give it the "look".
Start with a krink, short suppressor= same thing.
Slam on an AR-15 quad rail handguard, and you got what they were so smart to come up with.

Why have the front sight so close, and mount the rear sight on the dust cover?
Really? A fish tank full of silicon as a ballistic "test"?

Those hacks make me look like a master gunsmith/machinist.

I've been on the road all day and this has been an interesting thread to read. Here are some of my thoughts. Will keeps referring to the AR15 as a M16 since that was the battle rifle in his service days in the Marines in the 80's. As for kris with a K, I was surprised it took so long for someone to remember Kris Kristoferson. As for Germans in South Louisiana, my great grandparents on my dad's side immigrated from Germany throught the Port of Galveston. I was born in TX and my family moved to Shreveport LA when I was 8 so it is possible. And my final thought is that Minnesota was a part of the Lousisana Purchase so we shouldn't be too critical of our Louisiana brethren.

hey Chuck, i think you're dwelling on the unimportant parts. i was primarily venting because of my shock (sarcam) of a ******* shop gaining fame in the eyes of the uneducated. quite similar to my first comparison, Orange County Choppers. how many people think ALL choppers have dohickeys all over the bike, like OCC does? the Teutels have been a major driving force behind the "credit card chopper" fad from a few years back.

What pisses me off the most, is these guys passing themselves off as gunsmiths and machinists.
A gunsmith of any decent caliber wouldn't let most of their guns out the door.
A machinist wouldn't have a problem making the parts they need in half the time, with twice the finish quality.

Their gunsmith is good, but the main guy on the show is a moron, and degrades him way too much.
For someone to make that dude's jacked up ideas work, someone there has to be good. It sure as hell isn't the owner.

They are not in it to make good guns or to do quality machining. The are in it to make a soap opera aimed at a male audience. In that they are successful. Given that nobody is forcing any of you to watch it I don't see what the big deal is.

One side effect of this is that guns are becoming more mainstream. Yes, the cast is a bunch of yahoos. However, they are not gangbangers or cops. A guy on another board said that since the show appeared a previously anti co-worker of his got interested. Seems he realized guns can be used for things other than crime.

I wasn't the one who posted what you say are the unimportant parts. If they were really unimportant to you why mention them?
