DALLAS - Police say eight people have been shot after rival gangs confronted each other during a Dallas nightclub's rap competition, and at least one person is critically injured.

What they don't mention is that all shots were probably fired from 5 feet away, yet no one was killed. :roll: A good thing they can't shoot.

may i be so bold as to correct the previous post: they can and do shoot; just not very accurately or effectively.

It's just the clientele that such events attract. Like most concerts, the majority of attendees are there to hear the performer(s) and have a good time, but there's always going to be a minority of riffraff intent on causing trouble. Look what happened to The Myth in Maplewood. The hip hop shows really put it on the map for gang activity and violence. A coworker of mine used to work at Station 4 in downtown Saint Paul. Although Station 4 features primarily hard rock and metal shows, they will run hip hop concerts every once in a while. According to my coworker, these were, without fail, the most violent and disruptive events, usually resulting in numerous police calls.
