What an idiot. He obviously doesn't realize what type of people settle in and live in his community. It's a rather young community, Wait about 15 - 20 years and lets look at crime.
Lets remember: people hurt people, not guns.

When the "antis" have to use bought and paid for activists to champion their cause, they've lost.

Admiral Knight's clout is worn out -- a lilly white suburban police chief doesn't hold much sway in public opinion anymore (I hope).

So did a quick search.
Guess who has more conviction for Aggravated and Sexual Assault in MN - Permit Holders or Police Officers.

Guess who have been convicted of Murder or Involuntary Manslaughter more times nationwide - Permit Holders or Police Officers.

If people wish to continue claiming that allowing persons from states with "looser" permit to carry laws is dangerous they need to provide proof. Is the rate of gun crime among permit holders residing in states with "looser" permit laws significantly higher than gun crime among permit holders residing in states with "stricter" permit laws?

Unless such evidence can be presented the entire argument is completely moot.

Here is some interesting comparisons:

http://www-fars.nhtsa.dot.gov/Main/index.aspx
Look at the 2008 data.

Fatal Crashes 34,172

http://webappa.cdc.gov/cgi-bin/broker.exe

Number of Deaths Population Crude Rate Age-Adjusted Rate**
12,179 304,374,846 4.00 4.02

If I'm doing this correctly, then there are quite a few more traffic fatalities than there are firearm related fatalities.

Thanks for your efforts, both in training and letter writing. And for rejoining us at MNGunTalk. :D
our quarrel is not about the value of freedom per se, but stems from our opinion of our fellow men … a man’s admiration of absolute government is proportionate to the contempt he feels for those around him --Alexis de Tocqueville--
