Bang Ping - What the cobbler threw at his wife.

Postby selurcspi on Wed Oct 12, 2011 6:38 am

So this is it, the Ultimate Steel Shoot of the year is just ten days away.

Edited for clarity
October 22nd

OK. What's needed
just like the Second rule of gunfights states......Bring a Gun!...... 9mm, .38, 41, 44, 45, will do the job.

Holster, not needed for a Tyro, but you cannot shoot Man v Man without one. The trigger MUST be covered.
Round count, in a perfect world 100 would suffice. If you have the slightest idea you might miss, bring more....lots more. I don't miss much but I still bring 200
Hearing protection, if you want to be able to talk with your grandkids bring it, learning sign language at 50 isn't easy.
Eye Protection, good quality sunglasses, safety glasses or prescription glasses are MANDATORY, they should wrap around the side or have side panels.
Think of your shooting glasses as your American Express Card, don't leave home without them. We're shooting at Steel, bullets shatter, pieces of them bounce.
Clothes...This is Minnesota, bring snow clothes, rain gear, sunscreen, shorts....you get the picture...be a boy scout.

It's supposed to be sunny with a few clouds, if you believe the meterio.. metrio...Weather men.

Hydration, bring something to drink, it may be hot (or cold) so bring water or something else. (personally I don't consume caffeine when shooting it gives me the shakes)
Food, the town is six miles from the range and there are no facilities on site, bring some lunch, you might get hungry otherwise.
Start Time, Setup will be at 8:30, Shooting will start at 9:30.
COF, Four stages, each of 4 strings with the best three times to count. The winner will be the one with the lowest total time for the 12

If all goes according to plan, the Man V Man will be a little different this month (Pat, bring your 8 shot revolver)

$10 for Non Members, $5 for Members. (Gopher Campfire Club Members)

I'm planning on it. if I can find enough 1911 stuff I might do that too - at the very least, that will give Pete a good laugh from the hereafter! (haven't unpacked all the gun stuff yet since the move, so not sure which ammo box contains the mags and holsters for the 1911s :? )
