If you combine Gunsite, Scottsdale Gun Club & American Shooters (Vegas)...I would think I went to heaven.

Larry,
Love listening to you on AAR.
For the range, I'd like something against the clock or man v man. The pressure of a steel match is a definite notch up from killing paper targets.
I'd also like to take a week long class like Gunsite or S. M. in the area, if that's something the facility could accommodate. By the way, has anyone bought Telmark Lodge property yet? That might make a great training facility. It could host a survival ski & shoot, too.

When you think of a week long class what would you want to learn during that time?

Would you rather spend a whole week away working or learn the same information in smaller chunks over a longer timeframe locally?

Smaller chunks=Better retention. A facility in close proximity gives more opportunity to train more frequently, I would rather spend my monies training in town and do it on a quarterly basis than to spend one large sum on a once a year trip. It's fairly easy to devote 1 day or a half day to train here then to schedule an entire week to travel across country. I would love to see a facility like this happen in the area!

Smaller chunks would be great. Better retention, time to practice. I' like a combination of high speed/low drag stuff, legal ALA MAG20, and practical everyday carry. Could throw some survival and Flash Mobs in for good measure.

Also: A lot of us that would like to take classes aren't in shape for a week at Thunder Ranch but could manage a day or half day of moving and shooting.
