I'm just glad the people who gift me money do it in cash. :) I'd hate to have to wait for something I wanted to come out of gander. I got a bow there in January, online, on clearance - they were $20 cheaper than anyone else.

I do not see a problem of marking products up some, especially when it is a company like GM, people who are ignorant about guns feel "comfortable" going into big box establishments versus small shops. A year ago I had no idea where there were any gun shops. I knew where Gun Stop was and I went in not knowing the reloading section was separate, and the gentleman I talked to was a bit offstandish and did not seem to want to help much when i was asking some questions. Finally he just said to go over to the other guys and wait in line for help. Then he went back to bsing with some other guy. I turned around and walked out, went to Gander Mountain and bought a Beretta because the guy was there.

Now of course I love Gunstop. The tall older gentleman (forgot his name) on the reloading side is very helpful, just a bit different lol.

No dont get me wrong marking up crap extremely is not good busniess and it will eventually hurt it when more people realize it.

I also bought a cheap S&W AR15 Sport brand new from Cabin Fever for $500 and few months later brought it to GM and they gave me $690 for it. So I also think that a lot of the prices they have are due to employees paying to much for used products and the managers having to mark it up to make that 30-40%+ margins.

Humor on Goose Hill.
My uncle was on the way to a trade show in Chicago, and stopped at a Gander mtn. Saw a lightly used benelli M1 for $499, next to another used one for $899.

Oops, they marked it for what they paid.

I offered him $600 for it, to use for a backup gun, but he declined, saying he wanted to have it for a loaner, instead of lettin people use his 2nd Super black

It can go the other way at GM too.

I was at the Mankato GM 3 years ago and came across my Kimber PRO TLE II in the used case for $600, with 2 mags and a holster. It was in very good condition, no wear marks on it anywhere.

To top it off they gave me $400 in trade for my very well used 92f.

So for $200 I felt pretty good about the upgrade.

I was browsing Gouger Mt for the heck of it and inquired about a Bersa .380

The clerk told me it was a POS, they see a lot of them for repair, and I should buy their $29.95 one year "protection plan" since Bersa offers no warranty. I didn't buy it and didn't intend to buy anything there anyway. It was worth the trip for the amusement of hearing what the clerks tell the customers.

Here is a dandy one.
Just received my Midway USA monthly flyer. The large range bag that I have used for years, is on sale once again for $39.99.
Last week, I saw the EXACT range bag, but with a 5.11 Tactical rubber stamp on it's top for ONLY $119.95 at the Forest Lake Gander. I just can't believe the deals that Gander has if I just look for them :rotf:

Man, you're Gander's suck up there... the one down doesn't seem too bad, sure some of the stuff is a little higher, but you can catch a good buy now and then - plus they honor their price match guarantee, found that out first hand.

I don't know what is up with this Gander. I used to buy quite a few guns, and a lot of clothing, but prices have gone through the roof.
Another example, Fleet Farm sells American Eagle .223 box of 100 for around $32.00. Gander's price for the same thing is $50.00.
I pretty much have left this store, and am driving another 10 min. to shop at Fleet Farm.
