Whiskey fixes that.

Are you competitors allowing reloaded ammo with powder and charge weight tailored to barrel length?
If yes, I would cut to 22" max, 18" min, and handload a 7mm-08 or 308 powder, bullet combination.
A shorter barrel has been proven to reduce barrel whip, and minimize harmonics, but will reduce velocity.
As long as you are adding Muzzle Brakes, a threaded barrel weight similar to the BOSS System will allow for fine-tuning harmonics to a particular reload combination. Have Fun!

This is the first centerfire rifle I ever owned and reloaded for - it is capable of fine accuracy when loaded correctly.
I think I was using 48.0 grains of Hodgdon 4895 with a 150 grain Hornady bullet sized at 0.312"dia pushed about 2850 fps.
Do NOT use this loading without working up from 10% below for starters. You MUST slug your bore before using this bullet diameter.

legal: 16" from the bolt face to end of barrel. why leave any extra?

extra material is a capitalist waste. the proletariat will root out this blasphemy :P

i think the point is slightly missed - it's not an accuracy or ballistics comp. that would be pointless on a rifle ofthis caliber (he he - see what i did there?)

the competition is to slap as much lipstick on that pig as possible....

i'm thinking of giving my pig collagen injections so there's that much more to work with :D

I can't wait to start on my pig. Have to wait till after Christmas.
Wrap that around your overly muscled left wing and row your dinghy in counterclockwise circles as a result.

We can't really move individual posts like whole threads can be moved. It's do-able, but it requires copying, re-posting, and then changing the poster's name, which I can't do easily from my phone. Certainly willing to do that on a computer tomorrow, but it might be easier (and certainly faster) for you to just post again in the correct thread, and then I can delete this one for you.
