All of my mags for my CZ P07 rattle when fiully loaded. ( I know it's not an XD) From everything I have read with double stacks is that they can rattle. And it does not effect performance. Once I fire the one in the pipe and it chambers one from the mag it's gone, or if I remove 1 round from the 16 rnd mag it stops the rattle.

Yea, I think it's pretty prevalent, but only the sub-compact glock mags have rattled for me, and it is annoying...especially if it can be heard while you carrying

Just be happy that you'll probably not be ejecting full mags when it really counts. For most of my target shooting, I only load 10. Part of that is my OCD for using up ammo in neat little rows but it does make loading the mags a bit easier.

The XD45 is a damn good gun, I hope you grow to like it despite the issues you've had.

I already like it and realize that my problems are nothing more than bad magazines and new mags being stiff. Going to shoot it today side by side with my G23....just to assess differences in feel, recoil, etc. Should be a good time :D

Just put 85 rounds thought the Xd including Federal Tactical Bonded 230g +p, blazers, and herters steel cased. Ate everything and felt great. Hit where I aimed it and did so with moderate recoil. I really like it.

FWIW: My XDm .40 mags were 'sticky' when full. I bought it new. The release button was very hard to push. After running a few hundred rounds through it, and several cleanings, it works like I expect it to. If the magazines are not bulging like others have experienced, then perhaps after a while yours will work okay too.
I like my freedom. It came at a high price to many before me, and I will honor them by keeping said freedom intact.

bad XD mags?

Postby G-Breezy on Mon Dec 05, 2011 9:34 pm

It happened to me to me as well on my XD 45 mag. The lip started bulging out and I was getting misfeeds at the range. called Springfield up and they sent me a new one right away. I though it was from using the easy loader pushing down on top of the lip of the mag.
