New carry piece

Postby MNBlackjack on Sat Dec 10, 2011 3:09 pm

I picked up this little beauty today. :D She will replace my Kimber as my EDC. She is an STI Elektra and she feels oh so good in the hands.

If I don't have an Escalade, does that mean I have to buy one to go with it??? :D

That's a girl's gun!

(according to the STI website)

You should send it here, so my wife can evaluate it. She'll send you her Kimber Ultra Carry, which is much more manly.

Come on now, even the STI website says that:

The resulting pistols can be carried by anyone with a more discriminating aesthetic.

I guess that's why I have a Glock... and drive a rusty purple Geo Tracker. :)

It shoots fantastically. Very smooth action. It's a little snappy, but hey, it's a 3" 1911 chambered in .45 ACP. The straight-eight night sights threw me off a little at first but soon I got used to them. Yeah the grips have to go (too smooth and funky) but she is a damned fine shooting little 1911. The other odd thing is that they include a cheap chinese little padlock with this $1400.00 gun. WTF?

Rather that then include a $100 padlock and charge $1500 for the gun :P
