Bolt action .22lr suggestions

Hi,
I'm looking to get a bolt action .22lr to learn how to shoot rifles. I am currently looking into a Ruger 77/22 or CZ-455. Any opinions on these or other suggestions? Thanks,

I love my CZ-452 Trainer. If I do my part, the bullet holes touch at 50 yards.

I have the 77/22 all weather and it is a true tack driver. It has always been one of my favorite rifles. I have a Nikon 2-7X on it, and they work well together.

just get a plain ol marlin 922 bolt 22 with a clip or 981T with a tube, low price and shoots as good as anything else unless you want to drop a grand. Marlin has been building .22 rifles for a long time and their action requires low maintenance and they last for years. My father has had the same mod 60 semi .22 for 30+ years and it never lets him down. Dont be a fashion fag, but something useable in a .22

I picked up a plain jane Savage MkII a little over a year ago, and I've been completely happy with it. It functions well, and it shoots as well as I can.
Comes in lots of flavors, different stocks, barrels, sights, etc.

They both have a price tag. I think the CZ wears the tag a little better than the 77/22. The Ruger might be easier to customize, if desired. I think the CZ single set trigger is slick. Both of those rifles should serve you well, but there are a lot of options when considering a bolt .22.

The Ruger is definitely as much as I would go - I got a quote from two shops for around $630.

Accuracy is mainly what I'm looking for - plus nice wood furniture. I am a city slicker so this will not get thrown around. The reason I was considering the Ruger is I also intend on getting a 10/22 and doing an appleseed next year. I've got a 22/45 that was my first gun, so I have been satisfied with their products so far.

I ran into macphisto at Oakdale yesterday, and he just picked up a CZ 452 that was REALLY nice. The action was really smooth and tight, the trigger was exceptional (although I think he said something about an aftermarket kit in it) and overall it was dead sexy to boot. It had a 5 round magazine, and apparently you can get 10 rounders as well, but the 5 rounders fit flush with the stock, and looked really nice.

I will have one in the stable before long.

Very first thing find a new shop or shops, I quick check at Budsgunshop shows a price right around $400 for either.
IMHO I like the CZ452 American better and still under $400

A few somewhat local shops to check might be Frontiersman, Gun Stop, or Wolfs Den.
Never done bussiness with him but have heard nothing but good about some ThunderJohn ? guy that frequents here

Savage mark II with an accutrigger if you are looking for tight groups on a budget is the may to go.

I really like the CZ rim rifles, I have a couple. The thing that bugs me about them is that to me the safety works backwards. I am use to pushing a safety forward to disengage, but on my CZ's forward is safe mode and to the rear is fire.
