I'm thinking Mrs Tim Warner should stealth overhaul Tim Warner's new Mosin-Nagant with a rocking, bedazzled Hello Kitty camouflage pattern.... ;)

Seriously, I want to see you use ONLY the tools you mentioned in the other thread and see what damage an Engineer can do without support people (that means no getting the guys at work to do it for you too). I'll buy the pizza if I can watch. :rotf:

More pics wll be coming as I get more work complete. Don't think anyone wants to seen pic of me putting on the second and third coat of stain. Then sanding more and so one. The new excitement is I will be trying to remove the barrel today. Trying to break through 70 years of crap and rust... Should be entertaining. Pics won't do it justice. Wish I had a video camera so you could all see my fat a$$ sweating trying to remove it. But you will have to just visualize it. I am a 320lb midget. And..... GO

Okay You all wanted more pics... Here are a few of Olga after a few coats of the Classic Black glossy stain. Just applied it this morning. Let it dry a few hours then buff it up a bit to see how it looks. Working on polishing some of the other parts while I let the stain dry. This will really be a POLISHED turd when I am done.

Looks good. Is it just the way the flash is catching the grain or did you work in some metal flake?

I really like that black stain and have actually thought about using some myself on either a stock or maybe a guitar body. What company makes the Classic Black Glossy Stain? Is it this Minwax stuff?

Gunstocks are one thing, but please don't ruin a guitar body with that stuff. Unless it's a pile of excrement...... Then go ahead. Cheap Poly finishes are about the worst thing anyone can do to a guitar besides smashing it on stage or handing it to a modern Country singer.
