IMO that's an inaccurate comparison tman. From what I understand RP actually does believe in a strong defense, but not in offense, as in preemptive meddling in the internal affairs of other nations. I tend to agree with that and believe there has been a lot of paranoid disinformation spread by those with a vested interest in the proliferation of the military/industrial complex.

Since it seems we're currently bankrupting ourselves while playing Team America World Police, I think the only rational foreign policy for us now is to retract our military tentacles while making clear that we will still defend our allies and that acts of aggression will be smacked down severely and immediately. IOW a reprisal of "Speak softly and carry a big stick."

I believe that our past policy of international meddling hasn't made us (or the rest of the world for that matter) safer, and in fact was the primary motivation for the 9/11 attack.
The bold type giveth, the fine print taketh away.

Nice character attack, who are you going to try and back-stab next in your desperate attempt to discount him? Mr. Rodgers, Mother Teresa? Go get bent...

They don't deal well with criticism of their candidate.

Who is your candidate? Let me know so I can make unfounded (actually factual would be easy enough) character attacks on them, and ridicule you... If anyone is being disrespectful, obnoxious and annoying it's folks like you.

Kerry was elected Prez :?

He didn't say for President. Heck, I could have brought up Ventura, but that wouldn't meet the "last time" part of his question.

Kerry?

Last time I checked, Kerry still had the big 'D' behind his name. Perhaps you meant Lieberman?

No problem. As an LT I spent A LOT of time correcting LCDRs, so I'm accustomed to it. :rotf:

Nice try gyrfalcon. I didn't write the crap in his newsletters. He discounts himself. RP admitted to writing them in 1996. The article I quoted provides further evidence that RP is the author. If Mother Teresa or Mr. Rodgers wrote that crap and were running for President, I would let people know too. By attacking the messenger and not refuting the article, I would have to assume that you know about and support his racist opinions.

Go to minute 3:00 for Ron Paul's response to these accusations:

He's not a racist. This has been re-hashed hundreds of times and it's the only damn thing people like you can try and attack him on.

The article I quoted is from a few days ago, did you read it? Do you agree there are racist remarks contained in his newsletters? Do you actually think someone else wrote them? He can deny it all he wants. He cannot change the past. What exactly is people like me? Someone who does not support a racist, unlike people like you? You seem awfully defensive for some reason.

Do you actually think someone else wrote them? No, they magically wrote themselves.
What exactly is people like me? Shills who run around pushing F.U.D. on one of the most honest and reputable candidates currently running for office because they can't find anything else to attack him on.

Why don't you try and attack him on his voting record, or let us know of any candidate who has voted more consistently on the principles they have run on? Apparently you think he's a racist and nothing is going to change your mind...so be it.

I'm not going to stand idly by while you attack someone else's character over and over again on a flyer published in his name 20 years ago.

Obama can change where he was born, why can't Ron Paul change the past?

Frankly, if the only candidate who's against the war on "terror", and the war on drugs, it turns out, actually IS a racist, or used to hang out with racists, I'm strongly inclined to to write his name in anyway.
