What do you think this is worth/How much could i get??

Postby Troops2990 on Fri Jan 20, 2012 6:03 pm

I have a Bushmaster AR-15/M4 A-3, carbine with a collapsible stock, detachable handle, attached front sight, and chrome lined barrel. About 500 rounds through it, in mint condition. I am looking at getting rid of this and picking up a Sig AR and am wondering if it is financially smart to do so..
Thanks for any input.
P.S. i paid about $1100 two years ago..

A few photos would help a lot.

Using the search feature of the site I looked at the last few Bushmaster carbine length AR's that have sold (or are actively for sale) and I'd say $800 is a good starting point.

If you bought it 2 years ago, the market was still high. There are $600 AR's to be had new in today's market.

May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

If you're looking at the SIG M400 I don't know what it does that the Bushmaster won't do just as well.

They sell new in the $900 range. If you are willing to sit on it and wait for the right buyer, you could probably get $800, but I would think anything over $700 would be pretty good. Most AR buyers are looking for the entry level guns, or want to build their own the way they want it. IMO the mid-priced guns are a hard sell.

This is a tough crowd with its fair share of bottom feeders. Post it on multiple sites, ask $850 and see what offers come in.

#1 rule of used gun selling- don't be a needy or desperate seller.

#1 rule of buying used guns- patiently wait with cash in hand for a desperate or needy seller.

Good luck!

Was just paging through a Cabela's flyer that arrived earlier this week. They have new .223 Bushmaster's on sale. Comes with a 30 round mag, soft case, and a Bushnell red dot optic. Price is $639.99.
