... I don't post full S/N's though I'll usually include the first few digits to help with identification/valuation by a prospective buyer. While I may or may not care about a S/N being published you never know when a buyer will, why limit your prospective purchasers? It's relatively easy to obscure a few digits while I'm getting photos ready to upload if I'm showing/selling a gun online and I usually do, call it the rule of avoiding unnecessary (even if they are far fetched) risks.

Is tin foil the correct material for covering my car's license plates plates? I figure it might block the RFID chip too.

just don't bother putting plates on. Not like a cop ever bothers to ever look at them anyway. Especially the putz who pulled me over the other night.

"Excuse me Mr Farmer, did you know that you have expired tags?"

Check again Fairchild. Since when is Nov 2012 expired. Seems the computer hasn't updated from DMV from last November.

I"ve been in gun shops where they let me write down sn of used guns so I could check on them. They were not worried.

I suppose one can exchange your gun SN for your vehicle VIN.

They wouldn't notice you register a 1953 desoto for a glock now would they?

Yep!

:bravo:

Now I did post this to maybe get insight as to why a s/n should be covered when posting it online. I sure got some insight, but really no valid answer to my question except maybe that it is a personal preference which I understand.
