.22LR deal

Postby Scratch on Tue Jan 31, 2012 9:52 pm

Gouger mountain is starting some big sale tomorrow (Wednesday) and one of the sales is a .22LR brick for 19.99 with a 5.00 rebate online. I think it was federal...?

Just went to Gander and picked up 11 boxes of this stuff. Boxes are 525 rounds of Federal, 36 gr hp, and the rebate has no limit on qty. Rebate form is there or online.
Works out to be about 2.86 per 100. I know it's Gander... But it's the best price ive seen in a while.

I don't really see that as a deal. The last time (three years ago) I got the same stuff for around $10 per box, and I bought a bunch.

If you can find it for 10 bucks a brick free or no shipping... please share! Even 14 bucks a brick nowadays I'd like to see locally.

Even online I can't find a cheaper price when adding in shipping, and I'm including tax.

I agree. How long is the sale for? Might go this weekend to pick up a few bricks. :ugeek:

Once upon a time it was $5 a brick or less... and gas was $0.25 a gallon... times/markets change, $15 a brick is better than the usual $20 price 500 rounds of .22 fetches these days.

If you prefer something plated/HP that can be purchased locally this is a good price, the Blazer brass stuff at Capras for $15 a brick out the door is also a good value and skips the rebate. It's good to have options. :)

Sounds like a decent deal, and true times have changed, but every once in awhile... I happened to be at Fleet Farm about 4-5 months ago and they had the same stuff for $11.99/brick! I literally filled up the shopping cart and months as well as thousands of rounds later I still have a shelf full of boxes. I would keep an eye on Fleet Farm. Not sure how they do it, but they did. It wasn't advertised either. Just an endcap filled with Federal 525 bricks and a sale sign.

I still might grab a few of these. Can never have too many .22s (or any ammo, for that matter) ;)
