Winchester M-22 ?

Postby chudrockz on Sun Feb 05, 2012 8:36 am

Morning all.

I was wondering if anyone has familiarity with the Winchester M-22 tactical 22lr ammunition.

It's currently on sale at Gouger (I know, I know) for $34.99 after a $10 mail-in rebate for a 1,000 round box.

I only ask because I already snagged one box, only to come home and find that I have a 10% off coupon, so I'm contemplating snagging another (since I already have to mail a rebate form anyhow, ya know) but I'd REALLY rather not be stuck with 2,000 rounds of 22lr junk.

Here's the link, assuming I did the copy and paste thing correctly:

Edit: I checked the link and it works, look at me go. Didn't think I could handle that this early on a Sunday morning.

I picked up a box a couple of months ago, just because it was new. Shot OK, but only OK, in several semiauto pistols I tried it in. Not more reliable, or accurate, than other brands that are cheaper.
I won't be buying any more.
Remember, gun control is not about guns, it's about control.

Thanks.

Hmmm. Well, I did stop back at Gander to aquire more on Sunday, but they were sold out. They also have the 525 round Federal value packs for $20 (minus a $5 mail-in rebate) so I consoled myself by snagging two of those instead.

I have had alot of problems with those (550 rnd packs) in my semi autos also. Best bang for the buck is the Blazer .22
Burnouts, big horsepower, and things that go bang!

I only have semi auto rifles (Marlin 60, very old, and Marlin 795 almost new) and have tried the following:

Remington golden bullets (forget the exact name)
Winchester 525 & 550 bulk packs
Winchester 333 value pack
Blazer

Of all these, the only ones I had ANY problem with (and LOTS of problems) were the Remington. They are JUNK. The others all worked fine for me so far.

Had pretty much the same experience. For me, the Remingtons worked fine until about 75-100 rounds in when the action got so dirty that I had ejection problems. Mostly stovepipes.
This was also in a 795.
