Swartz was conjured up for Colt before WWII btw - cutting edge technology, like a typewriter at the dawn of personal computing.

It's funny, you glock guys don't get the hate and some of us just can't figure out where the love came from. ;)

Glock took a good idea and perfected it. Ergo: Glock perfection.

Everyone should own a Glock 19. It should be the standard bearer for handguns. It's silhouette should be enshrined in the Smithsonian in an exhibit titled "What guns should look like." It should be legal to marry a Glock 19. When you are born, or become a citizen, you should be handed one by the government and told "Welcome to America, American!"

The problem with Glock “haters” is anyone who uses that word can’t go back even if you realize you were wrong. You have been trashing it for so long that if you were to realize you were wrong, it would be to embarrassing to admit you were wrong. For a gun that is so bad, funny how every gun out there comparable has stolen many of the features Glock introduced into the world. Look in any holster of any cop, it has some of Glock in it if not the real thing! That’s why its Americas gun. Read the book and you would understand why they called the book what they did.

I carry a Glock. Why? Because they work. I put it on and don't have to worry about it. 1911s have style. Glocks have functionality.

1911's have style? Maybe in the early 1900's?

It's like saying apple is America's computer with a mere 5% market share.

There's nothing to go back on with me and glock. I hate the swartz, I hate the clitoris trigger (I don't like savage's accutrigger for the same reason), I hate the ergonomics (lack there of), and the fact they blew up a bunch of .40's doesn't inspire confidence with me, then to round it out - I've had bowel movements that looked better than a glock. What's to like?

You're entitled to your opinion, no matter how wrong it is.

You reconvinced me, I hate Glocks again. Thanks for saving me from myself. :P

Glock 17 made in 1982 - high capacity mag, polymer frame
HK VP70 made in 1970 - high capacity mag, polymer frame
safety was previously discussed

I have to admit, if you need to copy someone else's good idea HK is a good place to start. Good job Gaston.

List exactly what Glock stole from any one and give me a source for your facts. Let’s just put this to rest once and for all. Then list what other gun companies stole from Glock and went to court about and Glock won. :P

I'm not saying he stole. I'm saying that the Glock 17 wasn't 'innovative'. Gaston didn't come up with any new ideas, he just put a few other folks ideas together and set it on top of a weird grip.

If you read the book, and that’s what this thread started about, it gives credit and says that this feature was on such and such. Its one thing to have an idea and another to make it widely available and acceptable to the market. That’s what Glock did.
