Wanted - Kirby Vacuum Cleaners

Postby Inspiribomb on Sun Feb 12, 2012 7:56 am

I've got a little project going with these vacuums, and am interested in only Kirby vacuum cleaners (and accessories). Yep, those big heavy things that never die. New or old, working or not. I am not looking to spend much on them (and am not looking to make money), just a little hobby that I am trying to fund on the cheap.

Goodwill and Savers have them from time to time.

Sounds interesting, what are you doing with them?

Dust collector for blasting cabinet is my guess.

I've got a big water pressure tank I need to cut up into a cabinet one of these years.

Actually I've just been taking them apart, cleaning them, fixing them up, and polishing the aluminum. I spent several hours yesterday on my buffing wheel making a Heritage II appear to be chrome-plated.

A buddy of mine in NY collects them for dust collectors in blast cabinets. He says they're indestructible and even better - free.
