Meh. I figued if it was important enough to them, they'd show and not buy anything to spread their word. Guess I was wrong.

While I admire Starbuck's stand on the 2A, I just can't bring myself to purchase any of their overpriced boutique coffee.

Interesting. I won't go to Starbucks cause their coffee is low end burned swill.

Went to my Starbucks after work OTW with no jacket on. I ordered and then placed a $2 bill in her tip jar and told her thanks for supporting the 2nd amendment. She had never seen a $2 bill before and asked me several times if it was real. She then brought it over to the day guy who assured her it was real and said people were paying with them all day & told her to look in the cash register. She had just started her shift at 5pm and the other guy had been there since 10am. She had not heard about the boycott but the guy did. He stated though a lot of customers were paying with $2 bills, he had not noticed anyone openly carrying until I chatted him up. He was probably too busy to notice and the counter is high making it difficult to see waist level unless the customer stands back a ways which I purposely did...

2nd visit today

I stopped at the one on 25th ave by I-94 at about 5:00 pm. It was busy and I saw no sign of a protest. I bought a couple of gift cards and a cup of coffee, asked if it was a busy day and the guy that waited on me said it was busy all day.

The wife and I stopped at the coon rapids location. No antis. The workers had heard of the boycott. I told her I had never been to a sb before. To give me something without that burned after taste. She sold me a 20 oz bottle of coke. The wife had a coffee. Was also my first time carrying since I got my permit today.

So I heard on another firearm board that it was silly because Starbucks actually lobbies anti gun policies and politicians. I tried to google it but I keep getting the damn carry debate. Anyone know anymore on this? I try not to take things at face value but that would be rather ironic if it were the case.

Nope. SB stays out of the debate on either side. They simply follow the laws/regs of the state in which their retail store is located. This was why we were supporting them yesterday, and will continue to do so.

It is our opponents who seem to want to make their (SB's) support for state laws an issue.

It's worth noting that Starbuck's doesn't allow their employees to carry or have access to weapons of any kind on company premises.

From their employee manual:

Partners may not have or possess any weapon while in a Starbucks store, plant or on other Starbucks property. Starbucks takes its rules regarding workplace health, safety and security very seriously. It is essential that you understand and follow them, together with any more detailed guidance provided to you.

I think it's reasonable to admire Starbucks as a company that hasn't (yet) caved to policital special interest pressure to ban guns, but I think it might be an error to read into that that they are gun rights supporters. They are simply refusing to jump into any kind of gun rights debate, defaulting to "local laws" as their governing policy. As a corporation, they don't support gun rights, neither do they oppose them (other than the fact that they don't allow their employees the same rights that they allow their customers).
