Dealers in the twin ports area.

Postby gwilley1 on Mon Feb 20, 2012 9:56 am

Hey guys,
I've been looking around for a good price on a xdm 3.8 9mm. So far I've talked to fishermans corner and superior shooters supply. I wasn't trilled by superior shooters supply maybe an off day for the sales guy. They weren't willing to move on the price of the gun at all. When I asked about price he said that's market value. I can get it cheaper from gander which is crazy. Anyone from the area know a competitive place that wants to do business?

I've gotten both my XDm 9mm's (4.5 and the compact) at Fisherman's Corner - I've found them to be the most reasonable in the area.

He was 40 higher than saginaw firearms. I asked if he would match and they said no. So i asked what the price cash was and he said asking price. I was taken back with that response.

So why not buy it from Saginaw firearms?

Or if you're just worried about price buy it online and ship it to the ffl of your choice.

If you buy a handgun from Superior Shooter's Supply, they'll drop it off at some pawn shop in Duluth for the price of lunch at McDonalds, at least that is what they told me. I didn't catch the name of the shop but a look through the phone book should get you a name. That would be another place to try.

Then you have to pay the Duluth pawn shop the $30 FFL transfer fee.

I didn't pay the pawnshop a thing, though now that you mention it, the price at Superior was higher than I thought it would be but didn't pay a lot of attention. In addition to the pistol I bought a number of other items that I had not found elsewhere (brass, dies, and a bunch of clearance primers) so thought the price difference as my mistake. I also picked the gun up later that day rather than the nest as it seems to be the normal practice. I was up there that day only and having to wait a day would have been a deal breaker. Maybe that threw things off and I came away with a freebie? I won't know until I buy another handgun from them and that may be a while.
