sig sauer 22b

has anyone shot one of these? i'm intrigued by the .22 on a 1911, but does it shoot or is it like all the other 1911-22 that will misfire or run in to some kind of problem every couple shots?

From my understanding it is the exact same thing as they GSG 1911-22. This of course is according to other forums when I was trying to decide between that and the Mosquito. Needless to say I went with the Mosquito.

Why? You make it sound like the Mosquito is gods gift to .22 pistols (Its not!) Do a search on here, one just came up with a broken slide here locally.

I owned a recent production Mosquito, the trigger was a turd compared to my little sisters Beretta NEO's and it would only operate reliably with CCI Minimags (it actually mentions this in the owners manual).

Correct me if I am wrong, but If the 22b is the same as a GSG then it wont be legal to sell in MN due to the fact the slide is made of pot metal.

My whole reason for buying the Mosquito was to act as a training aid for my full size Sig, for the $7 per/box it costs to shoot minimags I decided to sell the Mosquito and handload 9mm's. Haven't done the math on this yet but I am sure I am money ahead reloading 9mm vs buying minimags.

Woah there chief relax. I never said It was God's gift to .22's. (The mosquito isn't even made by Sig), like I said from what I have read according to other forums is that the GSG and Sig 1911-22's are the same. Although the Mosquito is picky with ammo that is all I have read bad about it Even my girl friends S&W .22 is very picky with ammo. Before I bought the Mosquito I had a tough time making up my mind on whether I wanted to make the purchase or not. I thought I was going against better judgement, but have been pleasantly surprised as all rounds (mini mags) have fed and went bang. Until I experience the feed issue I will leave the feed ramp alone. These are $300 .22 pistols (far off competition grade) If I wanted to spend the money I would have went with the CZ Kadet for .22 that resembles a full framed pistol. Compared to most .22lr pistols the Mosquito is easy to break down, clean, and re-assemble.
Other than just plinking the main reason I purchased the Mosquito was for my girlfriend to use as she doesn't like the recoil of my 9mm or 40S&W and if I am going to be the one cleaning the guns I am going to clean the one that doesn't suck to clean.
I am sorry that you made the choice of picking the mosquito as a training base for you full size Sig.. Maybe you should have just reloaded the 9mm to begin with...

I picked one up today and ran a couple hundred+ rounds through it with only a few minor 'hiccups' towards the end... which i'm going to attribute to gunk after 200 rounds, and a damp mag and ammo (not sure how that happened, lol) mixed with cold weather. My only complaint so far is that it only comes with one mag!

You might find them at Cabela's. I was watching some youtube vids, and people mentioned getting them there. I'm pondering getting another, so I called and apparently sometimes they do have them.

I spotted one on armslist, I guess a dealer had ordered in a few, but doesn't normally stock them. All gone now. Keep on eye on there too I guess.
