Worth it, IMHO.
Is it strange that I get excited about having a rifle delivered to my door? I get all giggly inside.

Here in the cities $20 buys you one trip to an indoor range. I am a member of a club, it is cheaper, but further away, requires a work commitment, and is limited to daytime hours. Also, $625 isn't really pocket change(it's a bit more than half of my house payment), and ammo isn't really cheap, either. Unless you have a somewhat different definition of cheap. M1s were about $400 only a couple of years ago, but it's not even that. New production ammo costs have gone up significantly in the last 6-7 years. There is no more cheap surplus aside from 7.62x54 and 5.45 and occasional 8mm.shooter115 wrote:To say it's just too much of a hassle is lame at best. It's not that dificult or expensive if you decide to do it. At our club, memberships are $20 per year and includes any of your children under 18. Cost to shoot the qualification is $10 per person including ammo. So a total of $30 and 2-3 hours of your time per year. I don't know what it costs elsewhere.
