I think Ron Paul would be better for the new President of Texas, if it were ever to happen. But that's a different thread for a different time haha.

Started new thread in politics: "Mobilization to Override Governor Dayton's veto"

Forum,

I am pissed that Governor Dayton Vetoed this Bill. That is why I am here and I ask for your support. Here is the list of Senate and House that voted "NO". We need to try to override this veto. Please contact these people and tell them how you feel. I have an Ecel format if anyone is interested. Lets unite and do our part!! As you can see below, many of the DFLers that voted "no" do not provide an email address. You have to go to the state web site and use the reps form. Following the list I will provide a block of emails on the list for anyone to send a mass email. Additionally, I was having difficulty finding out who didn't vote. Input is welcome if they know something I don't know. Moreover, I think that we should rally the good people who actually voted for this Bill and try to get the necessary votes to over turn this horrible decision. Lastly, please forward to anyone who believes in your right to defend yourself and family or organizations that have membership who support our view point (IDPA, USPSA, ISPA, etc). Does anyone have any ideas about how to actually get the opinions of the "rank and file police"? This is what killed our chances in the Governors eyes. If we could conduct a survey, petition and get the real sentiments of law enforcement, I see the possibility of an override.

Kind Regards,
Ben S.

He's a gun grabbing liberal, you're not going to change his mind. They know guns in the hands of peaceful law abiding citizens doesn't raise crime they just don't like guns...gives them "da heeby jeebies". They're emotion based thinking rendering them impervious to our logical standpoint.

Move on to the legislators.

This idea was brought up on another board.......

Governor Dayton is a strong proponent of passing a stadium bill for the Vikings. Why not attach this as a rider to the stadium bill and see if Gov. Goofy has the balls to say no to the Vikings?

At the very least, I'm sure there's enough votes who are on the fence over the stadium issue that they could delay it until next year, with the threat that the stadium bill will never be approved if he doesn't sign the Stand Your Ground bill.

Can't do that in minnesota, we have something about one topic per bill.

That must have been passed after 2003 then, because the original MPPA was passed as a rider to another bill.

Which was overturned in the courts due to this rule, and had to be resubmitted on its own.

You guys crack me up. Just think how much better off our State would be in if you would have put as much effort into keeping Goofy out of the Gov Mansion as you do try to fix what you created. Thank you "Proud" Democrats!

Yea, Cause I'm sure there are a whole lot of folks on this board that voted for Dayton
