Purchased a used pistol from a local retailer.
The pistol had the original box, paperwork and casing.
At home I look at the serial # on the pistol and notice it is different from the serial # on the box.
Whoops looks like they gave me the wrong box for the pistol. Not a big deal. I take a moment and also look at my receipt. The receipt shows a 3rd different serial number (2 of the numbers are transposed from what is actually on my pistol).
I call the retailer and they are able to swap out the box immediately with a promise to reprint an accurate receipt and mail it to me as they couldn't do it on the spot. (?)
I get a call a day later. Looks like the form they filled out when receiving the pistol originally had the transposed numbers and the form they filled out for my purchase included the wrong serial number.
I'm in a holding pattern.
Thoughts?
I'll share the name if/when it is appropriately handled.
