Scratch's first Hand loads!

Postby Scratch on Tue Mar 27, 2012 11:33 am

So a fellow member here stopped over to help me figure out which way was up on my new Lee single stage press. He showed me a thing or two to get started, answered my questions, and helped me load some more dummy rounds. (Thanks for the help!)
Then after he left, I ended up loading up a couple 9mm with Berry's plated HP's.

Then I decided to go all "assembly-line" like and load up a whole mess of ammo for my 10/22. I had to do some "slight modifications" to my .223 dies... but in the end... the cost savings will be worth it I figure. Geez, what a pain in the butt though... I looked and looked but just couldn't find any dies for the 22LR... wonder why?

Oh well, can't wait to go try 'em out!

You didn't mention reading the manual cover to cover at least three times. :rulez:

Hand loaded .22lr will not always cycle semi-automatic firearms, but they sure are quiet.

Do you need a punch to pop the dimple out? They'll work again right?
I don't reload someday I'd like to learn when things settle down. We have to much going on in our lives right now.
But until then I'll refrain from from commenting on this subject which is very serious and I know absolutly nothing about.

Don't forget to chronograph that ammo so you can verify the the Power Pistol load data in your rimfire reloads. ;)

Yeah... I couldn't get that worked out very well, so I just crimped them with a pair of pliers...
