G26 vs G27

I've carried a G26 or a G17 for years. I've never shot a 27, but I put a mag through a 23 once, and that experience was enough to turn me off from Glocks in .40. This coming from a guy who shot IDPA with a G21.
People more knowledgeable than I claim that not enough would be gained, in terms of stopping power, to justify the greater ammo cost, slower target reacquisition, and noise. I'm inclined to agree. Lots of people have been killed by the 9mm round.

I personally like the .40 round specifically because I can walk into Fleet Farm with out wondering whether or not I will be able to pick up a box of ammo (If the ammo supply in my safe is low or out) and head to the range. I can't do that with the 9mm, I refuse to pay twice the price for ammo at Gander. 9mm is still an effective round no doubt but I like to shoot often and .40 allows me to do that. Personally I think I would pick up the G27 and compare them side by side if you like them both which just might happen, keep the G27 and keep the G26 mags and pick up the lone wolf 40-9 conversion barrel and then you can switch if you feel like carrying 9mm one day and .40 the next.

I have a 27 (Gen 3) and a 26 (Gen 4) -- I much prefer the 26 in terms of recoil - I think the 27 is fairly snappy. I shoot both equally well though.

My advice would be to get and carry the 26 - but honestly either of them is a fine firearm.

I don't have actual figures in front of me right now, But I think when you buy ammo on sale WWB at FF it's 8-10 dollars cheaper for the 9mm vs the .40.

WWB at Fleet farm is like 25.99 for 9mm and like 33.99 for .40 S&W for a box of 100

I've shot WWB in 9mm, .40, and .45, and have never had a problem with it. Maybe it's the gun that is *******. ;)

Nope, the ammo is ****

Nothing like this would EVER leave my reloading bench.

I can come up with more than several links to under-charged WWB ammo that has been partially responsible to KABOOMs. When I say partially, I mean that if the shooter had heard the "poot" and NOT tapped/racked/banged the gun would still be functional.

I am a victim of crappy WWB ammo. It infact made me have to replace my original OEM barrel with another one form Glock that doesn't have the same serial number as the rest of my gun..

Very Very Upsetting
