I have a spot in the right shoulder blade that is really painful. I do not think this should be shot without real recoil protection. I am not kidding I really hurt.

All kidding aside, maybe you should see a Doctor. You might have a calcium deposit on shoulder where recoil hits you. Or a bruised bone which takes longer to heal than a broken bone. Get it checked out, then get back shooting and don't develop a flinch.

A good brake is key for the 338LM.

Hopefully that shoulder heals up quick!

Thanks guys I will let the shoulder heal, the gun comes with a break that is integral with the barrel. Like the Weatherby ones that are EDM’ed into it. I will not shoot this without the lead sled or real protection anymore ever. The kick buster I have adds 9lbs to the gun and should help. What is not going to help is I made some hotter loads. I have been shooting around 2750 fps and I bummed it up from 96 to 100 grns. Still not at the max but want to see if it is any more accurate. I am guessing it will have some more kick. I am just about out of H870 “hodgdon” and will get into the other powder H4831SC I just got 8lbs of and it may have less recoil. I know this H870 kicked more in my 338 wm too than other powders but it was real accurate and well I had 3 lbs left of it..

I agree, I've shot over 50 rds more than a few times with just a T-shirt, never felt it in my shoulder, rattles the skull a bit! Brake design and stock design goes a LONG way when it comes to rifles like this, my guess is this Remington isn't as much of a thoroughbred as the TRG, those integrate brakes are nothing compared to the big daddies, I think the TRG brakes take a solid 40-45% off, I would guess the integrated ones are more in the 10-15% range. Some of those so called muzzle brakes are not much more than a fancy flash hiders.

Well when I burn this barrel out and have a new one made for it I will get a real brake for it. I may just get a new barrel in the works yet this summer.

Well with the weather getting better and better, I am also torn between flying and shooting. This is my other off road vehicle. Taking off from my 1000 yard range/runway 1MN2 Akely minnesota Cabin.

Some photos about 1/3 way down my airstrip shooting .338 Sunday! I also sighted in and broke in the barrel on the .308 that blew up. I had a little flinch the first time I pulled the trigger. I ended up with a 31/2” group at 200 yards. It was a little windy and colder than H*LL. Is there any relationship to the placement of the ejected cartridges and the consistency of the loads? I assume not as there are a lot of mechanical variables. Just wondering. All were about in a 1 foot circle from the .308. In the picure is the .308.

I like the guns, I will get a picture of mine up when I get caught up. I ordered a Giraud annealer. It seemed to be the best and most simple.

Which factory?
What loading?
Bullet type?
Bullet weight?
C.O.A.Length?
What brass?

What type of rifle do you want - semi-auto - bolt action w/magazine - bolt action single shot - shell holder type action - AR15 UPPER - or what?

I highly advise you to join FCSA - it will save you time and money - save enough to easily justify membership.

Call me if you want - on Monday or Tuesday please.

Federal XM33C a bunch of it. My Giraud Cartridge Case Annealer is on its way will have it Wednesday Yaaaaaaaaa. I do not know what I want right now most likely just something to shoot and see if I want to pursue it further. I need to look into loading equipment also for BMG. Shot the 338lm today, 5” solid block of cement, 100 yds turned it in to dust. I shot the m16 in full auto for a while also. I still like full autos, I really do. .
