I'm pretty sure your average Alzheimer's patient won't bust the door down or knock a window out to get into your house either. Despite my "simple" comment I think a little judgement and self control from the occupant of the house/apartment/townhouse/dwelling/residence goes along ways.
In the future I will be sure to be much more specific when posting.

Unfortunately, everything you post can be used against you in a court of law.

That Alzheimer's patient wasn't a hypothetical. I actually took him back to the nursing home.
Then again, people with real life experience are usually not the ones talking tough on an internet forum. That's usually reserved for people who have never shot targets that were shooting back.....

I wasn't discrediting your real life experiences. Also just like I don't know your whole story, you don't know mine. Your right, I'm probably not going to shoot an Alzheimer's patient. But you guys are failing to use reason as much as you think I am. My doors are locked, my windows are locked. If someone is in my house they had to use force to get there. My grandfather had Alzheimer's and I have seen numerous people with it, I honestly don't think they pose a threat. So again, if your in my home without my knowledge and against my wishes you are MOST LIKELY a threat. You can come up with all the hypothetical or real life experience stories you want they don't change my opinion. Not once did I threaten the use of force, I. Wouldn't say I am talking tough, I simply stated the best way to avoid a problem is too not go in someone's home.

Just so you know, someone who enters your house without consent, and does nothing else, has only committed a misdemeanor Trespass. The felony part is committing a crime while inside. Kill them, and you will definitely have some 'splainin' to do.
