Yep. I need to get started on mine too. It makes a nice coffee table full of rifles but now I need to make a top for mine.

Is that molding you've framed the glass with or did you use a router to cut it out? It would be nice to see how you secured the glass pane.

I built the frame around the glass from clear pine, the used 1/2" pine quarter round for a ledge. Glass is secured with silicone caulking.

Very unique!

When I saw this I thought for sure you lived alone - I would be very cautious, I can only imagine what your wife wants seeing as how she's being so generous with this. :D :?

Apparently you haven't met my wife.........

I guarantee there is no ulterior motive. She thinks old military rifles are sexy. She also has a nasty habit of stealing my guns.

Looks great!

I've been tempted to do this too, but if I did then I would have to remove the cosmo from more of my Mosins in order to properly fill in enough of the coffee table and that is too much like work! ;) ;) (if I leave them cosmo'd, then I don't have to clean them...)

Now you're all set to invite Joan and Heather over for coffee! :o

It's a shame home depot doesn't have Russian camo colors pre mixed. Were you able to use tempered display type glass?

Yep. 1/4" Tempered. With all sides supported, I think it's perfect for the job. I would be leery of using non-tempered glass for something like this.

I got the paint from Depot. i took one of the hinges in for a color match and they got it pretty darned close. Without the flash it's hard to tell there is any difference at all.
