Can you provide a picture or three of finished cases showing close-ups of head, neck, case-mouth, before and after ?

Can you use a RCBS Small Base Die for sizing?

You can skip final wash Op - I will do with SS Pin processing technique.

Price per Thousand cases prepped ? ____________________ (is it still $30/K)

5-7 k is a pretty large sample. I was thinking about 100 pieces brass included.

I have taken pictures but reformatted my MAC over the weekend and need to get the download software re-installed before I can get them uploaded to shutterfly and posted into the thread. Just gotta find the software or go back to the JPG route.

Yes I am still thinking 30$/k is the right price point.

They got for a mint.

That is the drive unit I am looking at but I cannot help but think with the right motor and a welder I could do it cheaper.

Hmmmm. If I only knew someone who could weld. . . .

As for the RCBS small based die the answer is not currently

I am using dillon dies for both of the steps that size.

I'm sure we have welders here who can help ya, I would offer my help, but the last time I welded anything was in high school.

That may (most likely) was directed at me, as we were discussing making one Sunday.

Where do I meet you for delivery of my Sample?
$30/K may be acceptable, after approval of closeup pictures.
Do you provide quantity discounts? Price breaks at what quantity.
How do you package cases to prevent damage after processing?
What would be your turn-around time for my Sample? I would take partials, if you deliver.

My next Sample will be larger.

I am not yet open for business. I have the equipment set up and the process 90% done but there are business things to take care of before I start charging people for processing. Please be patient a little while longer and I will open the doors figuratively as there will never be a storefront as soon as I can.

30$ / K will be the price . . . No discounts as I am just barely covering costs to begin with at that price.

How do you package cases to prevent damage after processing?
Original packaging only. So if the seller delivers them in a flat rate postal box they will go back in kind. If the seller delivers in a gallon bag that is the way they go back. At 30$ / K there is no margin for packaging.

What would be your turn-around time for my Sample? I would take partials, if you deliver

I will not deliver and assuming you are next in line 7 K will take 2 weeks at least. Again I am not yet ready to sell the service. Just convinced there is a market and working to put a business together to service the market.

I do appreciate all your questions as it really helps me shake out my business plans and where I want to go with the service.

.223 Brass processing

Postby Retread1911 on Wed Apr 25, 2012 8:40 pm

I picked up a box of once fired LC brass that was delivered today. While processing tonight we produced one batch of approx 100 rounds for a sample. I also took a couple pics with my cell phone that I will get uploaded tomorrow at work.

Will sell it for 10$ face to face only for cash at Burnsville pistol range one evening or at the SCAPSA match this weekend.

Variance on the sample batch is lower than the expected .010 of 1.750 at approximately .002 of either side of 1.750.

Email gtoon159 at yahoo dot com
To claim it and arrange pick up.
Cheers

As promised a couple of pics uploaded to my shutterfly account.

I hate the pics. They are not clear but without my cannon software I cannot get pics off the camera. These were taken with my blackberry.

I've had good luck downloading from my phone to PhotoBucket. Just be sure to play with download options in PhotoBucket to retain the clarity and size of pictures you desire.

.223 Brass processing

Postby Retread1911 on Fri May 04, 2012 7:43 pm

I have acquired several thousand LC once fired pieces of brass.

While there hasn't been a lot of interest in my 100 count samples I thought I would ask what you guys would expect to pay for 500 count bags of processed once fired Lake Cities brass?

Would 75$ per 500 be appropriate or say 140 per thousand?

I buy 223 - 5.56 brass at $60/1k.
If you will process it for me at $30/1k, I will keep you busy.
Let me know your current production status.

Awaiting some answers from you.

Hopefully I won't miss my quantity purchase while waiting for you to respond.

Or I just go ahead and purchase and send to another house for processing.

Or buy sized and primed new LC brass for $125/1000, and save processing hassles.

Honest answer, that's kind of high - last stop through Gunstop they were still selling 500 count bags of once fired LC brass (range pickup dirty) for $35, $70 for 1k... add in $30 for processing 1k and you'd be looking at $100 per 1000.

Wideners is selling unfired, sized primed brass for $125 per 1k here which is what Oldman was referring to I assume, plus $10 freight (no hazmat on primed brass):

http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm? ... =100000563

For what it's worth, I think your service is very compelling particularly for those of us short on time who just want to measure/neck size and run them through a progressive to make ammo ASAP. I appreciate your taking the time to try and make this a viable service, if I had a bunch of once fired brass to process I'd certainly send some business your way. :)
