Who has Buffalo Bore 44mag +p+ rounds locally?

Postby saltybirdman on Wed May 16, 2012 1:27 pm

Like the title says, I'm looking for the big boys. 340 gr buffalo bore 44 magnum +p+. I thought Cabelas had them the last time I was there but I was hoping someone in the metro had them. I checked gander mountain in Lakeville and they don't have them. I am going to try Gunstop and frontiersman after work. I was hoping someone might have a hot tip on who could have them before I started making the rounds to the local fun shops. Thanks in advance.

Just paper unfortunately. I don't have a nice private range at my disposal so I can't use things like tannerite, watermelons, bowling balls, the like for targets. My desire to break my wrist and general lack of self preservation is drawing me towards the stupidest round I can find for my new toy.

Corbon makes some nice 440g rounds for the Smith 500. They are fun in small doses.

Forget Gunstop and Frontiersman. Gunstop doesn't have much of an ammo inventory, and Frontiersman has assorted ammo, but NO exotic stuff. Try Bill's or Wolf's Den. Bill's has all sorts of Personal Defense ammo, and Wolf's Den has a very wide selection of caliber and loads for pistols.

I haven't seen them locally, I usually order a box from Midway every other purchase. Right now I have 8 in the drawer if you REALLY need some
Four boxes protect our freedom. They are: Soap, Ballot, Jury and Ammo.

I can't speak for the 44mag stuff, but Gunstop did have a variety of Buffalo Bore in 10mm a couple of weeks ago. It wouldn't hurt to call and ask.

Are those the ones I left with you? Hard to believe the biggest recoil junkie I know has found something to be taken in moderation.

Haha I'll probably end up ordering a box from midway or another online source. I stopped by Cabelas, and while they had buffalo bore ammo, they only had the 300gr 44 mag on the shelf. I bought some of those and have a box of hornady leverloution that came with the gun. I was hoping to find something on the more ridiculous end of the spectrum to shoot, but I'm sure that I'll find a way to manage with standard loads for now

Have you shot the 340gr yet? I always get someone coming over asking what I'm shooting when I break them out at the range.

I haven't, but that certainly sounds like the response I'm looking for from both the gun and fellow unsuspecting rangegoers.
