THe Burnsville place is a good place to shoot as well but to me it seems to be a little to mellow..I have only been there twice and I know I will shoot there from time to time...But in comparrison to Bill's there is no comparrison...Bill's wins hands down...

You can keep the crazies and the hand cannons. I prefer the sanity and quiet, mellow nature of BPR. That's one of the reasons I like BPR better than bill's...no rent-a-boomstick crowd there. Only gun owners or people who are there with gun owners.

There are idiots at every range that's open to the general public. Bill's Robbinsdale might have more simply because of it's location, and that they rent guns to shoot.

Wherever you shoot, you should presume that the people next to you are potentially unsafe, and keep an eye on them. Relying on the RO or other employees to provide for your safety on the range is just as foolhardy as relying on the police to provide for your safety on the street. We are all safety officers while on the range, if you see someone doing something unsafe and *you* didn't try to solve the problem yourself, then you're also to blame for allowing unsafe behavior to continue.

The only time you should have to rely on or bring up a safety issue with the RO is after you've brought it up to the offender directly, and they blew you off. This is true regardless of which range you go to or how "mellow" it is.

True, there are idiots are all ranges, and everywhere indeed... however, as you agreed with me on, it may be more-so at Bill's and places that rent guns versus places that do not.... but none are 100% guaranteed safe. I can live with safer than not.

Also true is to always assume the other person is unsafe and to keep an eye open for potential dangers and threats. Likewise, if you see something, say something to the person. I think all of this is really just common sense stuff, which all-too-often is not so common anymore.

Bill's is ok, only been to Robbinsdale and have to say I have never heard "I'd like to try that Desert Eagle" so many times in my life. Even saw them sell the kid 50AE for their 44Mag DE... It's not bad on a day off during the week though. On weekends it's too crazy, feels unsafe plus I need an inhaler to stay in there 20 minutes.

Fair statement, that. I LOVE Bill's on a Tuesday at 1pm (as an example). If I have time off during the week I usually make a trip to Bill's because I know it is likely to be me and one or two others there shooting. LOVE that.

Although the weekends do get a little crazy due to the number of shooters and the boom-stick-rental crowd, the advantage is that I get to meet many more like-minded folks with very interesting and sometimes rare guns that I would otherwise never come across. I LOVE that.

Well, if anyone here wants to "try the DE" let me know. Mine is clean and you can have your cherce of .44 or .50 (6" or 10" bbl for the .50). You can also "try" the 500 magnum, too.

I've been to Bills Robbinsdale but it's way too far from me and I know a kid in Robbinsdale who doesn't like me, so......

Likewise, If anyone wants to try out either my Ruger Mark III 2245 and/or Springfield XDm 45, let me know. I'm usually sending lead downrange at BPR on Saturdays, except this week where I'm at a different location.
