Ammo cans!

Seems like a good deal to me. AIM Surplus has new 50 cal ammo cans on sale, qty 1-11 for $13.95 each, qty 12+ for $12.50 each.

seems pretty good for new, but I've had good luck with a couple of the people with cans at shows - the ones I've picked up the last couple years have been in what I'd call "practically new" condition, and they've been under $10 (if they haven't had a bulk pricing deal listed, I've asked if there's a break if you buy 5 or more at a time and generally gotten a buck or two off anyway)

I like ammo cans but thus far I only own one (just bought it) but I thought about grabbing eight or ten of them and filling them with oatmeal or something for when the economy takes a dive. <g>

Small group buy? (I don't want to organize but if someone else does, I'm in for six.) Those are a hell of a lot nicer than the old surplus ones with new paint that I've seen around town.

On the phone with Aim now trying to negotiate a lower price for a higher qty (even better than the 12+ price). If I can get it I would organize it. Would need some more to chime in on buying though. Looking at buying a pallet (roughly 70 boxes), and I don't want more than 4-6.

Whew, skids are bigger than the original rep I talked to thought.

144 boxes per skid.

Good news is $11.75 per box if we buy a skid. Shipping would be extra, but spread across 144 boxes would likely be pretty small, maybe $0.50 a box.

If interested, chime in here.

If I can talk my wife into it I'd be interested in a few of them, maybe up to five.

I'll use this post for the official headcount, and update as we go.

Need to get to 144 (or very close) for pallet price of $11.75 each plus shipping of $1.67 each. Total price of $13.42 per can. Current count is between 97-103 pending final qty. Over half way there!

Also, I had a question regarding where to pick these up. I live in Shafer, near Taylors Falls/Lindstrom area. But I get to the metro area regularly, so setting up a time to meet people with cans shouldn't be too much trouble. Anyone outstate wants them, I can coordinate shipment if necessary, at your expense of course :D

You'd do better with 5-gallon buckets.
