Fun working today

Postby cobb on Sat Jun 09, 2012 3:46 pm

Some may know that I do firearm training at Vantage Point Shooting Range, which is also Drive A Tank.

They had a big group today for Drive A Tank, so they asked me to work the range where people can also fire full auto firearms. I spent the afternoon playing with full auto firearms like a Sten, Thompson, M16/M4 and a few other military guns including a Garand and .50 BMG. Now standing by or firing a .50 BMG at an indoor range will give a person a headache after 20 or so rounds, just no hiding from all that muzzle blast. So not a bad day, play with and help others with full auto firearms, no cost to me for ammo and get paid for it on top of it all.. 8-)

The only full auto I did not play with was the tripod mounted 1919 belt feed. I was not familiar with it, so when someone wanted to shoot it, I preferred that owner Tony took care of it. I assume if I am asked to work I again, I will be familiarized with it and work it also.
