5-8? Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded. Killer burgers at Frenchmans'! ;)

Relatively recently, I went into the 5-8 in Champlin with a smile on my face as I was expecting it to be the same--albeit different ambiance--and left very disappointed. They had some interesting specialty lucys, but I want a 5-8 original and got something that made me want to kick puppies.

As much as I hate to admit the other side of the river has a better jucy Lucy, my order of preference is this;

#3 - the original greasy spoon , Matt's
#2 - 5/8 club, definitely a step up
#1 - Blue door pub in st . Paul. Much less greasy, and more varieties than you can choose.
A few 1911's, two crazy boxers, a fast car and a half fast driver.

Seeing as how we appear to agree on burgers, I suggest you run, not walk, to The Republic for a burger. They have something special going on in that kitchen.

Makes me think this forum should get a Carrier's Club Twin Cities Burger Tour going. I mean...it already has a name and a great concept.

Frenchmans is good and yes the 5-8 is busy but itclose and we usually do take out anyway. I'll have to try the other places mentioned and then I'll render an opinion. Wouldn't want to amke a mistake and PO anybody.

Welcome from hinckley...
Wrap that around your overly muscled left wing and row your dinghy in counterclockwise circles as a result.
