Hmmm. I have to say that that article is probably the most alarmist position on the UN treaty that I've seen so far. Hard to know where the truth lies. I'm pretty confident that we'll see a lot more shrill rhetoric and nonchalant obfuscation before the dust settles on this issue. That's assuming that the notoriously inept UN can pull this off.
Last I read, the Senate 2/3 majority necessary to ratify such a treaty, even if the UN could get its act together enough to actually grab its ass with both hands, was quite a long shot. I'm pretty sure that about half the Senate wouldn't give a rip about embarassing Obama internationally.

However, given the propensity of this administration to crap on ignore the Constitution (recess appointments while congress is in session, execution of US citizens without trial/conviction, executive orders suspending deportation of illegal immigrants, etc), it wouldn't surprise me to see the *resident attempt to "ratify" the treaty via executive order.

Right. I'm sure that is what will happen...

... but what if it ain't?
I agree, 2/3 Senate approval is unlikely. But if an agreement is made, where tax cuts are extended, and/or osamacare is repealed, who's to say what can 'er can't pass? They passed the '94 AWB ... no "Republicans" voted fer that?!
They're clearly attempting something ... and their end-run may not yet be clear.
"All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."
... is anyone here suggesting, while whatever these clowns are attempting, we (the NRA) "do nothing"?![]()
If they are successful, what will you say about that? ... "oops"?
Regardless, does anyone here honestly believe the U.S. signing this treaty will do any good ... for anyone?!
Would you sign it?!
