Dang glock

I love my 1911. Never really liked Glocks

Bless me father for I have sinned.

I shot my brothers glock 17 gen 3 yesterday. It was very nice. My main reason for not liking glocks was its not comfortable in my hand and well be honest... its ugly. He put on a hogue grip that slides on to his grip. That made a world of difference. Felt awesome. Still ugly. But shoots awesome. I was pleasantly surprised by it. I was talking crap about its sights with the little goal post on it and then I shot it. Those sights make it really easy to shoot.

Ran it through some drills. Slow fire= great, rapids fire= heck yeah, and drawing from the holster and dumping out all the ammo into the steel target at 15 yards = not a problem.

I might just have to pick one of these things up. But my 1911 is still my favorite.

Traitor!

I'll be honest, I shot a G19 Gen 3 a few weeks back that was nice, but he reshaped the grip, stippled the **** out of it, added a magwell had TFOs on, and a 3 pound disc :P onnector in the trigger. He said that I could fo every mod for under $200 after getting the gun if I shopped around. I said I could just get an XDm and be done

No Glocks in my future

If I get a glock, it would always take the back seat to my 1911.

But I am just sharing how surprised I was with how comfortable it was and easy to shoot.

I feel cheap and used. Is that a normal feeling after shooting a glock?

Well, as much as I love my glocks - cheap and used is a good way to put it. There is NO reason that something that affordable should be that good a pistol.. (I have had my original 2 for the better part of 20 years - still going strong.)

They just work - there is no romance to them at all - just a soul-less slab of plastic and a little metal... Thats all - there is nothing special to them - 23 parts tops - no magic...

They shoot way out of proportion to their price tag....

My CCF Non Glock works like a real gun, and feels like one too.

If you don't mind the firing pin retainer pin breaking and rendering the pistol completely useless, I agree. I've seen it happen and it's happened to many others. They ditched this design flaw on the new XD-S

Keep your 1911, we're not looking new shooters.

Yeah pipe down! If people get over their irrational dislike and biased excuses why they cant shoot them, glocks might get more expensive for the rest of us!

I'm with you Anoka. I resisted for 4 years, and made up all sorts of reasons why Glock was not for me. Then I tried a Gen4 G19, and it totally changed my perspective. I ended up doing some trading and selling of other guns to buy a Gen4 G19 and a Gen4 G21. Now my carry rotation is my G21 about 75% of the time, and my G19 on those days when my clothing options don't quite conceal the G21 to my satisfaction. I have now taken several handgun classes with my Glocks, and there is no doubt in my mind that I am a much more effective and efficient shooter with the Glocks than I ever was with the other brands.

I have been a 1911 guy and bought a used glock as a stash gun, so the 1911's could stay in the safe. Within a couple of months, I bought 3 more used glocks. I still prefer the 1911's, but the glocks do get used.

The best part is my SO had little interest in shooting and didn't like the 1911's. She loves the Glock and is now shooting on a regular basis.

You sick ass weirdo... Lol you move to the country and now you take a liking to Glocks.

In all honesty I have seen they why people like em.... They're like the ak47 of handguns regardless of the condition it will go boom in way or another :?

Like ruk said you'll more then likely never see me own one I can't get past the looks and how they feel in my hands. Plus there's other options in brands I'm more partial to.

I've shot a 34 once or twice. I have to admit that it wasn't as bad as I had expected. The grip angle is funky but it reliable hit the same spot 7 degrees below where I pointed. I liked it so much that I went out and bought an HK. 8-)
