Mpls Beer Night for the BPR Recovery Fund - 10 Aug 2012

Postby Shipyard on Fri Aug 03, 2012 8:45 am

Due to the recent events at BPR and In the spirit of Thunderjohn's recent generosity – Strad and I have decided we need a heart of the city beer night to get some funds together for BPR and have a bit of fun.

Leave the rug rats at home, bring the wife (or anyone else friendly for that matter :P ) and meet on up for some get together and beers. We’ll pass the hat for the BPR recovery fund so save the price of a pitcher for the kitty ;)

***THIS IS NOT AN OPEN CARRY EVENT***

i'm not sayin you can't come strapped - but i just want to make clear this is not an open carry show off political statement event. it's a chance to get together, put some faces with the banter on the board and have a few drinks while puttin' together a fistful of dollars for a good cause. Out of sight, out of mind plays well here in south - we ain't in the middle of Phillips here folks...

Kick it off at the Town Hall Tap for yummy top shelf craft beers until it gets too crowded, then hit up Adrian’s bar next door for cheap and plentiful pitchers of PBR. (Both bars are beer bars - but you can always hit up Pepito's next door to that if you demand hard liquor. These 3 places are literally right next to each other in a straight line so they/we will be easy to find whenever you decide to show up.)

BUT WAIT: THERE'S MORE!!!

Shippy's Super Fundraiser Deal:: if you think you got the fat stacks to back it up, you can sponser me $1 a beer/$5 a pitcher for whatever i drink in the evening. Common' folks - pony up. If i'm going to wreck the **** out of my liver and brain cells on a friday night, there's no reason you SHOULDN"T use the opportuinty to earn some good fortune and karma points by thowing some dollars the way of BPR in the process :P

Start: 7pm Friday 10 Aug 2012
End: when Shippy can't stand up anymore (it'll be a long night... :P )
Locale: Town Hall Tap/Adrian's/Possibly Pepitos later on
Address: 4810 Chicago Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55417

See you there Homies!

Yep. Adrians used to be posted, and through many conversations with them the sign came down. It would be nice to keep it that way. Not to mention all the hipster prettyboys in the area that would wet themselves a little and make the "man with gun" call to the police. Normally not a big deal, but with the amount of folks there that would likely be carrying at this event if the turnout is good it would probably put a quick end to our fundraising efforts, or at least make thinkgs more interesting than would be comfortable.

Also, I don't know about you folks, but I certainly plan on getting over .04

I look forward to seeing a few of you there!

And Shippy..... I'm in for a dollar a pitcher donation for your efforts. I've seen you drink, and at a dollar a beer I'd go broke. :P

Ok, I am in for this. This will be my first time meeting almost anyone from this board, which should be interesting. No open carry--got it. Good call and great plan.

I want to apologize in advance for anything that might come out of my mouth. I'll start that commentary by saying that I do not apologize for anything that comes out of my mouth.

I look forward to meeting y'all. Shipyard, I'll buy you a beer fosho.

Well sh*t, Stradbro, that's all you had to say! I'd be happy to extend the love. In fact, I'll sponsor the price of a pitcher to BPR for every pitcher of beer we drink together. Boo and ya.

Good call. Here it is. $100 from me to BPR in support of the local gun community. Pitcher sponsorship still stands. I got more money than smarts, and an angry, Irish liver.

1000!

Given the shape I anticipate being in, I have a hunch I'll be on my couch...or my front steps.
