The birds are fine after their two weeks alone.

A freaking caterpillar made a web in the lens pocket, so 2/3 of my 298 image/videos are all white. :( But, I do have a cool video of a little red fox.

Looks like a normal Spitz type dog to me.. Sort of handsome... Too bad he is going to have a bad day sometime soon.

Consensus among my experienced friends is that he's domestic cross bred at least two generations back. His gait is wild, his diet is wild, his bark is half/half, and he's just slightly larger than normal, his coloring is off, yet he knows his place with the other domestic dogs.

I'll take great pleasure in putting him down - I just need a shot opportunity.

Nope. Haven't seen any evidence of him either.

One of the neighbors has a spitz, but as you can see there's no curly tail on the pooch in question. DNR CO says it's a yote too.

The Col. died about a month ago from unknown causes. We're thinking it was some skeeter borne illness, or some other issue. He was sitting in the corner of the cage luke warm when I found him. There were always hoards of skeeters in the cage with him (it was nearly intolerable changing water and restocking their food - 40% deet might as well have been salt and butter), but now that he's gone they've gone as well. I guess ducks are harder to get a syringe in?

Hansel is doing fine. I've got a camera on him this week to see if he's being harassed at all. I'm not finding evidence of digging around him like there was with the two of them. Of course, I've also killed 10 coons from the area, so that might have something to do with it.

There's not a lot of yote sign right now. Once the fruit food sources come in, they taper down the hunting (same thing happened last year), but as the foliage dies off they start going after turkey and deer again. The fawns I've got on camera are all doing really well size wise, and most mommas have little ones with them in the pics, so predation has been low enough to provide some new deer to the area.

I'm pretty much done invading the woods for the summer. I won't be out there anywhere but certain trails until archery deer opener next month. Time to let the deer's house settle before showing up in the kitchen ready to put them in mine. :)

Hansel is on meat maker food now too. When he gets big enough, we're having duck.
