Why would you post that in this thread? Isn't there enough Gun Stop threads to post that information in?

A little competition in the market place is a good thing.

I agree a little competition is a good thing... but also think TH3180 is correct... kind of an odd place to post this comment.

It is in general gun discussions, general gun chat, seems pretty general to me. Best of luck to both of them I am sure I will patronize each.

Yes it is in "General Gun Chat" but it is a thread about the gun shop opening in Eden Prairie, not the Gun Stop. I think it is bad forum to post about the Gun Stop in this thread when there are other threads about the Gun Stop.

So... threads are supposed to stay on topic now? Guess I missed that change.

*PFFFFFT* Dollars to donuts you won't see a cent difference, those guys at gander have their heads so far up their rectums... Good news for Arnzen Arms.

Gander Mtn won't likely benefit from the gunshop nearby, but, to paraphrase a local hardware store owner when homers depot opened nearby: "it soon became the best thing that could happen to me"...
Faster access(smaller parking lot), better customer service, brought in a lot of business from people that didn't want to waste 10-30 min, waiting for help, waiting in check out lines, lack of expertise.
Certainly on small to mid-dollar sales, the inconvenience of a big box store is not with the minuscule savings. Home Depot did the marketing to get people to do home projects. Customers soon learned that a $20-100 purchase is not worth the time and trouble for any possible savings.
Gander Mtn might be the first place shoppers are drawn to, but if the gunshop can deliver the goods with customer service, the GM just becomes a free traffic generator.
Good service at any GM store I've been to seems to be an anomaly, rather than the norm.

Small mom and pop coffee shops in CA learned a sim8ilar lesson from Starbucks. Sure, some people go to the new or the chain, but all that advertising or the name recognition leads to lines and waits and a % of the people drawn in notice the smaller shop and then fall in love ...

We are crazy excited to get the doors open. All day we have had people coming in the store and looking through the windows. I think I gave 40 tours of our not yet opened store this week.
To answer a few frequently asked questions
• Yes, we will be offering training including C&C classes
• No we do not have an on-site Smith, but are building working relations with other smiths who specialize in specific areas
• Yes, we will be carrying used guns and will be doing consignment
• No we do not have a range and the people at Menards have ask that we do not shoot in the ally behind the building (go figure  )
We really look at all other gun shops as an extension of the wider shooting community. There are tens of thousands of different types of weapons available for every different type of need. No one can have everything; but shops that cast the biggest net can bring the most “bang” to their customers. Every small shop owner I have talked to feels the same way. We look forward to Larry re-opening Gun Stop. They have been a staple of the shooting community – they will not be our competition; they will be part of our network.
We really look forward to throwing the doors open – REAL SOON!

If anyone has an specific inquiries feel free to e-mail me mikereilly@yahoo.com
or hit me on facebook – Mike Reilly
Be sure to like our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/ArnzenArms

And be sure to come in an meet the owners Dan and Kate

Thanks Mike Reilly

Had to post this sign on the door because the people knocking on the door were distracting us from getting ready!
