so i was looking at AR Stocks on eBay...

i came across this seller "Tactical Life", and they have some AWESOME prices on Magpul stuff. for example, a PAIR of FDE MBUS sights (that's redundant, isn't it? OK, a pair of MBUS) that's got no bids and opening price is $25! then i look at some other auctions, selling CTR stocks for an opening bid of $44 and Buy It Now at $95 already done up in Multicam?! that's pretty good!

at the bottom of their listing they say "Made for Airsoft but works great on any AR or Tactical 22 lr rifles. Why spend 3 times more when just plinking and having fun."
what are the odds that the MBUS listed are also Airsoft? i mean, at that price, they kinda gotta be! oh, and i'm not putting anything for an Airsoft gun on my AR. maybe a stock, but that's about it!

am i wrong for feeling like this seller is trying to dupe his customers? that's not right!!! i know, everyone wants to make a buck, but that's **** (the expletive was all caps for greater effect)

Eh, if people want cheap then that's what they get... I don't fault the seller, he's not being dishonest and saying they are FOR standard AR15's, he's saying they are made for airsoft, if you want to take his word for it, then that's the buyer's decision.

And if his sights are the cheap versions they will have PTS in the model for airsoft.

Edit:
I just looked, seems his Magpul stuff is all PTS from what little I looked around... 100% honest in his listings and his opinion as far as usage. If someone things they are getting over $80 value sights for $25, well, you get what you pay for.

I have looked at both the real Magpul sights and the airsoft Magpul sights. They are basically the same thing. All parts are interchangeable. I think that they use regrind plastic for the PTS stuff so it is a cheaper plastic.

I was looking into this stuff awhile back... The claim being that PTS were the same exact stuff - except mfg'd in china/japan or something...

I never ran into any info either, supporting or denying that statement.

My CTR stock probably cost magpul a whole $6 to produce here in the US including packaging. I'd also be willing to bet pmag's are under a dollar when they leave the factory. There's simply a lot of mark up on the stuff.

It's entirely possible they send the out of spec molds to another plant to make the airsoft stuff. A few thou out of spec won't amount to much in a stock, grip, or especially on a BUIS, but they could keep using that mold for another year for extra profits without potentially selling something that didn't fit right to a firearms customer.

I question where Palmetto got my MOE pistol grip based on how tight it is on my lower. Not that I'm complaining that it's snug, but it takes a deliberate effort to get seated - which is exactly what happens when you clean up an injection mold from erosion damage between the halves and don't re-cut it deeper in the cavity.

Magpul buttstocks and Pmags? Yes, please.

Magpul BUIS? No, thanks.

You can get those magpul sights here for about $11 with free shipping http://dx.com/p/magpul-mbus-gen-2-front-rear-flip-up-sights-set-black-127641?rt=1&p=2&m=2&r=3&k=1&t=1&s=125111&u=127641
Here's the stock for under $17 http://dx.com/p/magpul-ctr-carbine-stock-black-125111

I'm tempted to order some stuff to see what it's like. It will probably at least be sturdy enough to put on a .22.

I bought an airsoft stock at a gun show once, prob like the same thing at the DX site linked above. It was for a 22 AR thing and thought it wouldnt be an issue as its just a 22. The stock was a pile of crap and was obviously not even a good copy. I commend Magpul at making an airsoft line with the PTS but the china copy stuff quality Ive seen is garbage. Even for my 22 I threw it in the trash, glad I was only out 10 bucks. Now I just search the used ads and find beat up old furniture, if you wait and look hard there are deals to be had on real deal stuff, just as some wear marks of use.
