I have never shot out to 200 yards and probably using a rifle that isn't mine. This will be interesting, beginners luck here we go!

most three gun rifles are zeroed for 200 yards
Trigger control, getting into a supported position and breathing cause more misses than the distance

3 gun match Dec 1, 2012

Short answer-because it works
Most local matches that is the longest shot, 50 yard and 200 w/223 are very close zeros, just hold dead center and pull the trigger, remember to put the cross hairs even with the top of a close range head shot

Notice the 50 and 200 yard "zero" at the 50 the bullet is still on the way up, at the 200 it is on its way back down.

I just got my new AR, and i don't have a sling for it yet, I am guessing that we would not be expected to sling a rifle or shotgun? I am guessing all the guns are staged on the course, and they are dumped after that part of the course?

A friend and I are planning on coming to the Dec 1st shoot. Was "stay tuned" in reference to using slings in 2013?

He just meant there may be a match in 2013 that incorporates slings. For now the answer is no.

I was just doing some searching for the bulletdrop thing, as my local range is only 100 and I wondered whether to zero at 25, 50 or 100...
Found this little calculator and thought it could be handy for others as well:

Perfect! I just wanted to make sure that the Dec 1st match wasn't "closed" and I didn't know about it.

See you there!

For the new guys attending this match there's "some" valuable infomation spread across this thread.
http://www.mnguntalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=28534&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=3gun
Somewhere there was a thread about 3-gun gear and what people use/recommend, but I can't find it. If anyone can find it, please bring it back up. It should really be pinned in the events topic.

Depends on shooter turn out, 2-3:30 pm, if everyone helps with reset and tear down it goes pretty smooth
