FN FS2000 Magazine

Postby TiltMaster84 on Thu Dec 06, 2012 8:00 pm

I just purchased a new FN FS2000 and so far I love it. The only problem is it came with 1 magazine and my pmags don't fit. I am not interested in doing any mods to my pmags, so looking to find a good magazine for it. Any ideas what is best and where online I can purchase them?

I wish C Product was still making mags. Those are what I use for my FS2000 and have not had any issues with them.

That said, I have not had any issues with USGI mags with anti-tilt followers. On this platform you will not have too many issues with almost all USGI mags with the right spring and followers as the magazine is not put under stress or rested on during use.

Have you tried a new gen III Pmag? I hear they fit better in many non Colt made guns.

I just read two of your posts in a row and it seems like you are not really reading the question and providing bad information.

You didnt even bother to know what FS2000 is...

There is a gasket in the FS2000 that won't allow the use of PMAG's or anything other than USGI spec mags.

Check out these or any USGI design with a Magpul follower:

I have heard about C Product, it's all the guy talked about that sold me the gun. I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Where can you find a USGI mag, sorry I am not very familiar with these mags. Pretty much all I have ever used were Pmags on my other ARs, so I am trying to learn some of these other magazines.

Ahh so those ones from Bravo are considered USGI. I have heard that recomendation before, I think I might buy one or two of those from Bravo and see how they work.

Man I would pay extra money for Pmag to just make one that is compatible with the FS2000.

You can shave them down. It just takes too much work and unnecessary modification to a functional piece of the firearm (gasket) when you really consider USGI magazines to be about $9/piece. If you just like polymer mags, then you can get Troy Battlemags and work on those to fit as they will be somewhat easier to modify than PMags.

What is another $90 for 10 mags, when we have already invested $1900+ on a platform that is overlooked by many.

The problem with using polymer mags in the FS2K is that there is a rubber dust shield inside of the mag well. The dust shield is shaped to fit the rib on a standard metal mag. Poly mags don't fit this shield because they do not have that rib. You can get some poly mags to fit if you perform surgery on that rubber shield, but then your gun will be open to the possibility of getting dirt up around the bolt. This is how different mags fit in my unmodified FS2K:

Magpul pmags of any generation will not fit.
Magpul emags will fit, but are extremely tight- like it feels like I'm gonna damage the gun tight.
Troy battlemags fit the best, but are still so tight that mag changes are very clunky. I wouldn't be surprised if continued use of these would chew up the dust shield.

I use cproducts mags in my FS. if you can't find them, ASC is the same company.
