Ah, the classic winning strategy of the 2012 election season.

I AM SO HOPEFUL!!!

IF gun laws are supposedly political suicide like you say it is, how can blocking them be hurtful to the GOP?

There are gun laws we can enact that won't hurt us in the least, and gives the impression of compromise.

Like the two you previously posted? about harsher penalties and taxing the manufacturers? (This is a serious question not sarcasm)

If so, I don't think it will matter because in the eyes of the general uneducated public they will see this as nothing. Antis want smaller mags and no AWs.

Just the other night I was watchin the news. They were talking about the content they found on the computer of the Accent signage shooter. They said they found sites researching different bullets and where to find ammo online! To the general public this seems crazy, to me if just sounds like the content you would find on my web page history. My point is people will call for more and more restrictions. Pretty soon they will call for no more internet sales of ammunition.

You honestly beleive this? What would those be? Listen to the average person out there, they will not be happy unless it begins with the word assult weapon and ends with the words high capacity clips.

If I were to tell any of my friends who are not gun enthusiasts that we need to increase penalties for straw buying, they would look at me like this= :?

If I were to tell them we need to ban all assault weapons and any guns that hold more than 6 shots they would totally agree with me because I am pro gun. If a pro gun guy thinks it should happen then it must be the right thing to do. Right? WE NEED TO STAND OUR GROUND. I'm not even a 3 gunner. I own no Ars and no semi- auto pistols. Just revos and shotguns, most of which only hold 2 shells. Just thought I would point that out.

I feel like this is what Heffay thinks I look like.

You need to educate them - no time like the present. I just converted 2 people today to the good side. Conservatives that started out by saying they look like the guns they would have been issued in Vietnam if they didn't avoid the draft on a medical. It ended with them saying "crap, yeah I guess I would rather get shot with a .223 than a 30-06."

But .223 is high velocity!!! The cop on the news told me so last night!

We went through velocity vs energy. I told them the round is so small it isn't legal in some states to hunt deer with...you know the lines. Use them and get some grassroots education to the masses.

I'm super surprised nobody is mentioning the time table for the task force. I believe they have a month before making a decision. That time will hamper any ban bill.

Joe Califano was on KFAN today and he explained the push Johnson did for gun control after JFK, RFK and MLK got assassinated. Joe related how Johnson wanted to rush a bill through knowing time passage would kill it. It got delayed and the bill died. Joe was lamenting how the same thing will happen now (he's pro ban) and that very few senators are standing up for a ban now.

I guess it's easy to fear uncertainty.

#5 - Automatic weapons have no place in a deer stand....

Lets see...did I miss any?

1: Good thing I own Guns, not Gunz
2: Good thing my Guns don't go out and assault anyone.
3: Good thing I own Magazines instead of clips, looks like M1 garand guys a screwed though; and I don't ever shoot from the hip. NEVER.
4: Good thing my ammo is regular deadly.
5: Good thing I own a semi-automatic weapon, and currently don't deer hunt (but would be interested).

Should add lasers. Can you imagine putting a laser on a gun? I mean, geez, those are SUPER-dangerous; you've seen Star Wars right? Who needs THAT!??

This is an excellent point. The time table is a big blunder.

Not if the favorite of his "Executive Priviledge" is invoked.

So, I've always been curious...

Is it just me... or does Joe Biden look quite a bit like Mr Montgomery Burns...? Hmmm...

Yes it is.
