It's called Capitalism! No different than charging over list for Harleys & popular cars. If people will pay, they'll be sellers

And Obama wants all private gun sales banned with gov't approval. How the heck are we going to deal with that?

$20 transfers with thunderjohn?

"gov't approval" = i am making an assumption but this seems to just be a reference to closing the "gun show loophole" - which we all know is mislabeled stupidity, but making provate sales subject to a NICS check.

i don't like it none fer sure, but could i live with it? that's a whole different debate in another thread.... :|

The other issue is $20 or ... $75 or ... how much. Go look at the average cost to have a FFL do the check in CA ... I'd heard $75. Add $75 to the sale of every gun ... that would be what ... 15% of a Glock?

Having lived there for 6 years I can tell you that if you could find a FFL willing to do it for $75 you were lucky! But that also has to do with the FFL needing to keep the firearm for 10 days - I'm guessing there's legitimate fees in insurance and whatnot. At least that's what I told myself as I forked over the money.

Was at Bills North for my weekly day off range trip today and it was like day after thanksgiving in there but I didn't see any price hikes (but they were rationing the AR mags they had left to 2 per person. Then was browsing gunbroker tonite and almost crapped my pants. DPMS stripped lowers for over $350 w/ 27 bids? The last one I bought, 3yrs ago, was $99 - sure wish I have a few to sell now. Why do we do this to ourselves?

I posted the information as it sounded like good info and made sense why even your local gun shop might be seeing higher prices and thus passing them on to you.

Makes some sense. If the distributors can't GET the guns and they're dependant on $x a month to operate and pay staff and make a reasonable profit ... if they're only going to be able to get 1/2 or 1/4 of the volume, they HAVE to make up the rest in price increases

Wolfs Den is rationing primers again, Limit 1000 per type (prices still normal). This due to hoarders trying to buy them out of primers. They are out of alot of different powders already.
