That being said, certain locales that have high cap bans in place don't tend to have big 3 gun matches at them. For instance, there are no big 3 gun matches in California because of their goofy rules.
The 3 gun world seems to have crept towards more divisions, like USPSA has, over the last 10 years.
I expect that 3 gun will survive whatever they do, as it is alive in a somewhat bastardized form in england- basically shotgun only. It will likely not change much quickly in the absence of a confiscatory gun ban. Long term, well, it would probably look like SASS (cowboy) without the dress up depending if it was a semi auto ban.
This. Keeps it "fairer" for those competing. Our "outlaw" 3gun comps with MN3gg currently do tactical limited, tactical optics, open, and He-Man. He-man has not had much competition in it, so it has been occasionally combined with one of the others, depending on what was used. It's pretty simple to understand, Tac limited is no Magnified optics; only red dots or irons for all guns. Round counts apply, but not a "10 round mag" rule UNLESS the stage calls for a specific round count with mag changes. Tac Optics, you can add a magnified optic to one gun, rest are standard sights or red dots. He-Man adds specific round size to be more "manly". Open.....those guys scare me.
