What I have decided to do is "pay it forward" so to speak. One Saturday in January, I will be giving a women's only P2C class to the first 10 wives of current members of this forum who are interested in obtaining or renewing a Minnesota P2C. This class is intended for the WIFE of a member only. I will provide : firearm-ammo-targets-eye and ear protection-applications for Minnesota and Florida-coffee-bottled water and snacks. All they have to do is get to Alexandria. Class would start at 9:00 a.m. The first 10 members that post will get a free class for their wife. At present, I am working with the 19th of January. Do not post and then check with the wife----once posted, you have reserved one of ten spots available. If the weather sucks on the 19th and travel is out of the question, we will continue with other dates. If this works out, I just may do one every month. ;) ;)

Oddly, it doesn't really clarify that at the time of this posting above, that you had to be a current member. If that is what you meant, I guess I am not the only one who mis-understood. I can see why you wouldn't want to have long time members lose a spot because people simply signed up last minute just to get the class. Coincidentally I joined the forum a few days after this was posted and didn't see it until today so that wasn't my intent.

SAM wrote:Sorry gents--if you read the original post you will see that you had to be a member of the forum BEFORE the date of the post. You joined the forum after this thread was started.

I guess since its your giveaway, its certainly your choice to make the rules. However, I'd think since this thread has been going for quite some time and hasn't filled up yet, you'd want the most exposure that you could get as in reality this is a simple and easy way for you to get some great word of mouth advertising.

I'll let the wife know its not happening.. I am sure she'll be heart broken. ;)

jw--The post CLEARLY reads CURRENT members of this forum. I'm sure I will be doing another free class in the future at which time you and your friend will be CURRENT members of this forum and I will gladly include your wives at that time. ;)

I suppose I should have read things more closely. I should know better as a forum owner myself to read all posts thoroughly. Was hoping this could have worked out. As it would have been good for both parties. A. For my wife, B. for your business. 25,000 members on my board could have drummed up some business for you.

Not a huge loss I suppose, it's $60 bucks. Was more hoping my wife could gtg with other women looking to get in to guns.

You are correct sir--not a huge loss--just a huge enough loss for you to join the forum simply to get a free class for your wife.

I joined because Jeremy had thought it a good idea and a chance for our wives to gtg.

Very professional response.

WTF. The OP is unedited, and clearly says "current". You were not a current member when the offer was made. WTF. So you didn't get a freebie this month, and you whine. WTF. Do you have reading comprehension issues or are you just special? WTF. Damn this entitlement mentality bugs me.

BTW, kudos to SAM and other instructors who sacrifice their time and money to offer these kinds of classes.

I apologize if explaining myself came off as whining. I assure you that was not the intent. My post was not rude, or unkind yet is was met with what I felt was an unprofessional response.

It is very nice of the op to offer his time and services to the members. I wasn't arguing or whining. Merely voicing my disappointment.

Again I'd like to add the freebie wasn't important. Alexandria is a 90 mile drive. More so I thought it would be good for my wife to gtg with other women interested in firearms and an opportunity to network, as well as getting my wife together with Jeremy's. it's all pretty irrelevant at this point anyhow.
