Looking for opinions on .22LR rifle

I also have a Ruger 10/22, I love it. The takedown model is cool, I would love to get one of those too. The Ruger BX-25 magazine is almost impossible to find right now too.

+1 (X3) on the CZ! I bought a nickel plate CZ 452 Style a year ago and it makes dime size groups with Federal Automatch (cheap bulk) at 50 yards, and quarter size at a hundred. And I'm a new shooter! They're better made (was a machine builder and machinist for many years) than most so worth the little bit more they cost. Cheap trigger tweaks will give you a shooter that will go up against Anschutz, or so they claim on rimfirecentral. Almost anyway. I liked the Style so well I bought 2 more because they were ending production of the 452. Besides they're prettier to look at than numbers in a bank account. I'd still like to try a Ruger take-down for camping and trekking, but for shooting fun, this Style sure pleases! Don't ask me about their handguns, I've stopped at two. Thinking a .270 with kevlar stock would be nice....

I'd go with the Ruger 10/22 or Marlin model 60 for semi autos, A Winchester 9422 (used, since they quit making them a few years ago) for a lever action, and a CZ or Ruger 10/77 for a bolt action.

I have no good explanation on why I do not own a .22LR. rifle. I guess I just have more fun buying the bigger boys. I'm sitting in a boring work pow wow and I found myselt thinking about finally buying my .22. I've considered the Ruger Takedown (waiting in line Owatanna Cabelas to get one but they sold out). I also have buddies very high on Marlins.

I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

Three Marlin 60's in my house. None have any issues. With a little ammo testing, all have been acceptably accurate. With patience and a coffee-free morning, two of them can make quarter-sized 10-shot groups at 50yds. The third is not capable of such, but I got it as a salvage attempt. Also have a couple Henry lever guns (mine is the octagon bbl, my son's is the youth model). Both are accurate enough to chase those little plastic golf balls around the range all day. My laser-beam .22 is a savage model 880 heavy bbl. Not sure why it's a tack-driver... the gun was really cheap.

A CZ 452 is certainly a fantastic .22. There's also a really popular lever-gun... help me out guys, is it a model 49? Supposed to be superior to the Henry.

Bottom line, IMHO:
You a shooter? Go get that Marlin model 60 for $150 and grin all day at the range.
You a tinkerer? Go get a 10/22 and grin all day in you gun room upgrading parts.

Easier to find and cheaper than the CZ, great trigger/iron sights on a highly accurate gateway firearm into smallbore target shooting (debating this as my next firearms adventure). The Mark I is the same basic gun in a single shot variety for a couple bucks less.

I haven't seen them locally (once at Gunstop before they closed/reopened the gun side) that often but I'm sure any number of FFL's in the forum can order you one if you don't want to go through the CMP paperwork.

Unless I'm mistaken, it doesn't look like individuals can order these from CMP unless representing a youth marksmanship org. Really looks like a nice rifle though. I'll look for one of these for my kids.

I have a 10/22 and a Marlin 795. I've haven't got around to shooting either of them yet but I really like the barrel and light weight of the Marlin. Plus, they're inexpensive.
